Award Winning Oakpond Cottage is near Whitchurch and only 10 minutes away from the award winning canalside village of Audlem, which has its own boating marina. The cottage is nestled in the middle of Shropshire farmland on which we farm and graze cattle. There are two cottages; Oakpond sleeps 6 and Oaktree sleeps 2. They are both warm and cosy with fantastic views from the romantic balcony and the large kitchen/diner which opens onto a large patio area. The cottages are ideal for couples and families who just want peace and tranquility. The gold award has been awarded to Oakpond Cottage for its exceptional quality of accomodation and customer service.
On approaching the cottage down its own private lane, which is only shared with the owners, you will be greeted by the pheasants which roam on the gardens and Macey the farm dog. When you step inside the cottage, sit down and enjoy the views of the pond and its wildlife, with a tempting home-made cake (made with free range eggs from the Oakpond hens). Wake up in the mornings and go for a stroll around the fields and see how many birds you can spot as well as the rabbits and ducks and then collect your own eggs from the straw boxes and have a real Shropshire breakfast.
Oaktree cottage is a very spacious romantic cottage and is perfect for honeymoon couples or for parents who holiday with their families but want their privacy whilst their family stay in Oakpond. Step outside from your bedroom onto the balcony which overlooks the pond and the fields and have breakfast in complete privacy.
Both cottages are warm and cosy with full central heating and a roaring log burner (only in Oakpond) for those winter nights.
On arrival, a welcome tray awaits you with a home-made cake, beverages, chocolates, complimentary toiletries and fresh flowers.
We are situated on the Cheshire / Shropshire border, thus many attractions on both sides. Both cottages have their own large private gardens and patios and a very warm welcome is made to all our guests (you are not just a number) and we are on site if any problems. Large childrens playground in the village.
