Oakpond is a warm and cosy traditional country cottage which has lovely views from every window and is perfect for couples and the smaller family group and can sleep upto 8 people if booked with Oaktree. The cottage is surrounded by an abundance of trees and wildlife and sits sits in front of the beautiful wildlife pond which is home to the moorhens and squirrels which is perfect for people who love nature and require peace and quiet. The cottage has two gardens with one garden being safe and secure for one dog. The patio is fenced for a small dog and we provide a stairgate across the kitchen french doors if a larger dog is staying.
We only rent out one farm cottage at any one time unless both the cottages are booked by the same people or if only two people are staying in each cottage and this way, people will be able to enjoy the quiet and private location and enjoy the wildlife which the cottages have to offer.
Our farm is located further on down the private lane and guests are most welcome to come and visit us to see the animals whilst Mark and I are both on hand if you need anything. Please note that until there is a Covid 19 vaccine, we are unable to allow guests to come onto our farm.
The cottage is rural but not too far away from an award winning canalside village and 2 lovely towns (Nantwich and Whitchurch ) as well as the beautiful Brown Moss Nature Reserve. We have five very good eating pubs including our village pub The Olde Jack Inn which is dog friendly and The White Lion at Ash and there is also a super indian restaurant who will deliver to the cottages.

Please note that the hot tub is only available from Noon until 9pm. (gives us time to treat the water) and has complete privacy. Please let us know if you require this facility and we can therefore reserve it for you when booking one of our cottages as we only allow one cottage at a time to use the hot tub for the entire stay. NOT TO BE USED IF YOU HAVE A FAKE TAN.
THE AREA AND LOCATION
We are very lucky to have so many lovely places to visit as we are on the Cheshire/Shropshire Border.
We welcome one behaved dog free of charge in this cottage. The cottage has a back garden which is well fenced and is safe and secure for dogs and this is leading from the back door as well as into the large courtyard. The front garden which leads towards the pond is not suitable for dogs as we have our moorhens roaming free in the front lawn and will not take kindly to dogs and it is not dog proof unlike the back garden. Our private drive way is lovely for a 10 minute walk and a lot of birds and wildlife can be spotted on route and this drive is only shared with ourselves. There is a 12 acre field adjoining the drive way and this can be used to exercise your dog (not to be used when we have cattle grazing). Audlem is only 10 minutes away with 8 circular walks with tearooms on the way as well as Brown Moss Nature Reserve which has woodland walks and three good eating places nearby.
The only thing we ask our guests is not to allow your dog upstairs (stairgate provided) OR LEAVE YOUR DOG ALONE INSIDE THE COTTAGE.
