Oaktree is a GOLD award winning cottage which is homely and spacious which is ideal for couples who need space. The cottage has its own private garden which overlooks the wildlife pond which is home to birds and animals. Oaktree is situated on Shropshire farmland and is perfect for couples.
We only ever have one set of guests staying in either of the farm cottages (unless both cottages have 2 people staying ) and so you will be able to enjoy then beautiful surroundings which Oakpond has to offer. (excludes Easter, Xmas, Bank holidays and the high peak season)
A very spacious beamed kitchen/diner which has a fridge freezer, microwave, oven (electric) There are wonderful country views from every window. There is a lovely reading area in this room which is perfect for planning your next day out.
A perfect room for relaxing in with wonderful views over the wildlife pond with full glass french doors opening out onto the patio and gardens. A very comfortable leather settee and reading chair compliment this room with 32″ tv with free view and a good selection of dvd,s.
A lovely bedroom with a spacious balcony which is a sun trap leading from the french doors with views over the fields and pond and you can even see Jodrell Bank from the balcony which is situated in Cheshire. The light oak bed is a kingsize with quality bedding. A charming country dressing table and antique wash stand makes this room stand out.
A charming bathroom with views over the courtyard and fields which has a luxury spacious shower cubicle, wash basin and wc.
The Laundry Room
This is a shared room with a coin operated washing machine (£2 for 4x quick washes) Clothes can be aired in this room or can be hung out on the washing line. Maps and information are also kept in this room as well as the dvd library. Wet boots and coats can be dried also in this room.
The Frogs Retreat
A lovely indoor room which has two large glass french doors opening out onto lovely views and this houses our new hot tub which has a unique arrangement with 3 seats and 2 built in loungers for extra relaxation. Please let us know when booking if you would like to use this facility and we can then reserve it for your entire stay and will be private and not shared. DO NOT USE IF YOU HAVE A FAKE TAN.
Beautiful private garden with its own apple tree and wildlife pond with wonderful views of the countryside. The patio has a private screen between the cottages and is a sun trap with table and chairs.
The parking is safe and secure for 2 cars. Please let us know if you have extra guests arriving who are not on the booking form.
The area and location
We are very lucky to have so many places to visit and walk due to the cottages being on the Cheshire/Shropshire Border.
From the Cheshire Plains and Delemere Forest to the canalside village of Audlem which has 8 circular canalside walks with tearooms. On the Staffordshire Border we have the wedgewood and coalport museums and also the Lovely Trentham gardens and monkey forest. The Welsh border is only 40 minutes away with its rugged hills and the largest waterfall and there is the steam railway town of Llangollen with its steam trains and horse drawn barges. There is a very good cycle route which passes through the village which has 6 cycle routes. The cottage location is close to a wonderful nature reserve with woodland walks and is well fenced for dogs as well as the Melverley wildflower fields.
