1920`s Showmans Waggon
Sleeps 2 (No Smoking or vaping)
Maggie is our unique horse-drawn showman’s waggon which sleeps, 2 people. We bought the showman’s waggon nine years ago from a gypsy who use to live in it with his parrot. Maggie (who we have named after our first gorgeous German Shepherd) has since lived in our barn. During the lockdown, we decided to bring Maggie back to life and so at the moment she is having her roof repaired, to make her waterproof for the outdoors next year. This showman’s waggon dates back to the 1920 era and comes complete with the shafts.
Photos and additional information coming soon.
The showmans waggon is lovely and cosy for just two people. There is a bespoke double bed with quality warm bedding and a seating area with views over the fields. Maggie is situated in her own private and secluded spot with its own private parking space. Please note that due to the location of Maggie, you may hear foxes and owls during the night and the odd moo call.
This was specially made for Maggieand joins onto the showmans waggon. There are no steps into the waggon which makes it safer for our guests. The verandah has lovely countryside views from the door with some outsoor seating, perfect on a summers morning.
Many of our guests will remember Macie our tripod dog and so our lovely summerhouse has been named after her. This is where guests will be able to do their cooking and dining whilst looking out over the countryside and maybe our cows. The dining table which seats two is perfect for any rainy days.
The Showmans Waggon is rural but only 10 minutes away from an award-winning canalside village and 2 lovely towns (Nantwich and Whitchurch ) as well as the beautiful Brown Moss Nature Reserve who has the Chef in the wood who sells very tasty home-made pies and pasties. We have five very good eating pubs including our village pub The Olde Jack Inn (40-minute walk) and The White Lion at Ash and there is also a super Indian restaurant that will deliver to the cottages.
This little garden joins onto Macies and is perfect for alfresco eating. There is a picnic table and a very unusual rocking chair which seats two.
Maggies guests have their own private flushing toilet and wash bowl with hot and cold water. This is situated 100 yards away from maggie.
The shower is situated in the Frogs Retreat Room and can be used anytime between 9pm and 11am. After then, this room is then used for our farm cottage guests. (Please note! If the Frogs Retreat has not been booked by our farm cottage guests, the Showmans Waggon guests can use the shower whichever time suits them.) Maggies guests will be informed on arrival.
This showmans waggon is perfect for couples who require peace and quiet but not too far away from the hustle and bustle of the local towns and villages.
Strictly no smoking in or around the showmans waggon and the summer house.
We regret that we do not allow dogs due to location of Maggie.
This is an optional facility and can be booked with the showmans waggon and so glamping with a twist. The hot tub is situated in the Frogs Retreat Room with views over the countryside. Maggies guests will have full private use of this room if the hot tub is booked with the waggon which includes the shower duing their stay.
(please note that if the hot tub is not required, the shower can only be used between the hours of 9pm and 11am.)
The waggon has its own private parking space for one car.
