Oakwood Cottage is a lovely spacious dog friendly cottage in Shropshire sitting on a quiet spot in the village with no passing traffic. This homely cottage has footpaths from the door onto the Shropshire Way and there is also a hardstanding mile long footpath to the village pub. The cottage sleeps four people and we welcome two dogs. The large garden which has 6 foot fencing is safe for your dog to play in. There is safe and secure parking for 2 cars only. On wednesday evenings, the village is alive with the sound of church bells ringing from the beautiful church St Johns on bell practice ringing night and is a delight to hear.
Oakwood is central for Cheshire/Shropshire/Staffordshire and Wales. There are many places to visit, such as the world famous Ironbridge and nine National Trust Houses and Gardens. We are fortunate to live close by to a wonderful nature reserve with woodland walks and the award winning canalside village of Audlem with its circular walks and tearooms. Whitchurch is our nearest town which is a lovely town with many shops including Tesco and Sainsburys who will deliver to the cottage. For the walkers, there are twelve lovely scenic walks starting from Whitchurch ranging from 2.5-15 miles long.
Gardens
Wollerton Gardens, Dorothy Clive Gardens, Bridgemere Garden World and Hodnet Hall and Gardens are within half an hour away.

Oakwood is perfect for people who require peace and quiet but not too far away from the local towns and villages. This is a perfect base for exploring the many places which this lovely part of Shropshire has to offer.

We are on hand as we are only 5 minutes away if there is a problem

A large private garden with trees and shrubs. This garden is safe and secure for children and dogs as the fencing is 6 foot high. The garden furniture is put out during the spring and summer months which is lovely for outdoor eating.
There are two private safe parking spaces in front of Oakwood.
We love dogs as we have two rescue dogs ourselves. Two dogs are most welcome at Oakwood. We would ask guests not to let them go on the beds or furniture or leave them alone in the cottage as dogs can stress in strange surroundings and damage may occur. There are circular walks from Oakwood which which will take you onto the Shropshire Way trails. The village link up footpath between Ightfield and Calverhall leads to a village pub.
The wifi is on a fast fibre network.
