A very spacious beamed kitchen/diner which has a fridge freezer, microwave, oven (electric) and a slow cooker. There are wonderful country views from every window. There is a lovely reading area in this room which is perfect for planning your next day out.
A perfect room for relaxing in with wonderful views full glass french doors opening out onto the large patio and gardens. A very comfortable settee and reading chair with reclining seats compliment this room with 32″ tv with free view and a good selection of DVDs and books. A lovely smoke effect woodburner is perfect for those winter nights.
The cottage is rural but only 10 minutes away from an award-winning canalside village and two lovely towns (Nantwich and Whitchurch ) as well as the beautiful Brown Moss Nature Reserve with its woodland walks. The Chef in the wood who sells very tasty home-made pies and pasties is resident at Brown Moss during the weekends. We have five very good eating pubs within 10 minutes including our village pub The Olde Jack Inn and The White Lion at Ash which has been voted the countrys best pub. There is also a super Indian restaurant that will deliver to the cottages.
Reviews
Please look at our cottages facebook and google pages for all our reviews which have kindly been written by guests who have stayed with us.
A lovely bedroom with a scenic walk out balcony which overlooks the countryside and pond. The very comfortable king size bed with quality egyptian bedding ensures a good nights sleep. A charming country dressing table and antique wash stand makes this room very homely.
A bathroom with views over the courtyard and fields which has a luxury spacious shower cubicle, wash basin and wc.
Clothes can be aired in this room or can be hung out on the washing line. Maps and information are also kept in this room as well as the dvd library. Wet boots and coats can be dried also in this room as well as a secured room for bikes. We charge £4 for the washing machine and this is for 4 washes and all monies are donated to a Grinsall Dog Rescue.
We are very fortunate to be close to a wonderful nature reserve with woodland walks and the award winning canalside village of Audlem with its lovely canalside walks and tea rooms. The cottage is central for Cheshire/Staffordshire/Shropshire and Wales and so therefore many places to visit including nine National Trust Houses and Gardens including the Hawkestone Follies. Wollerton Gardens and Hodnet hall and Gardens are only 10 minutes away, whilst Bridgemere Garden World, Dagfields Antiques and the Dorothy Clive Gardens are within half an hour away. The Shopshire Way can be walked locally as well as the famous Sandstone Trail with its scenic walks.
Beautiful private gardens with a large patio with its own fruit trees and wildlife pond with wonderful views of the countryside.
Safe parking outside the cottage
From the Cheshire Plains and Delemere Forest to the canalside village of Audlem which has 8 circular canalside walks with tearooms and the beautiful Brown Moss Nature Reserve. On the Staffordshire Border we have the wedgewood and coalport museums and also the Lovely Trentham gardens and monkey forest. The Welsh border is only 40 minutes away with its rugged hills and the largest waterfall and there is the steam railway town of Llangollen with its steam trains and horse drawn barges. There is a very good cycle route which passes through the village which has 6 cycle routes. The cottage location is close to a wonderful nature reserve with woodland walks and the Melverley Wildflower Meadows.
