Oakwood is a lovely country detached dog friendly bungalow with a cosy woodburner which is located in the sleepy village of Ighfield, sitting in its own private and quiet spot with no passing traffic. The bungalow is in a perfect base for visiting places and walking. The village has its own church and bell ringing is on wednesday nights. This spacious bungalow sleeps 4 people and we welcome upto two dogs free of charge.
We now have a hard standing one mile link path which leads from Ightfield to the popular dog friendly pub The Olde Jack Inn.
Everything you can need for in this kitchen which has an oven( electric) gas hob, fridge with small freezer as well as a microwave. There is plenty of storage cupboards and there is a side door which leads into the large and private garden with shrubs and fruit trees plus a lovely seating area.
A lovely spacious lounge with a three piece comfortable suite and dining table which seats four. The cosy woodburner will be made up for you with kindle and logs which is lovely for those winter nights with a basket of complimentary logs. There is a freeview tv with a selection of dvd films and games to play on those rainy days and lots of information on all the walks in the area including our new footpath which is a 15 minute walk to the lovely Olde Jack Inn.
Spacious bedroom with en-suite. There is a very comfortable king size bed, two bedside cupboards, dressing table and triple wardrobe. This lovely and light room has french doors which open out onto the private garden which is lovely during the summertime. Fully carpeted.
This room has two full size comfortable single beds, two bedroom cupboards, dressing table and double wardrobe with views over the garden. Fully carpeted.
A pretty family bathroom with a white bathroom suite consisting of a full size bath, wc and wash basin.
Quant En-suite which leads off from the main bedroom which has a shower cubicle, wc and wash basin plus shaver point.
A pretty and private garden with shrubs and trees which surround the bungalow. The six foot panel fencing is safe and secure for dogs and children and has a pretty seating area and patio which is perfect for relaxing.
The garage can be used to store bikes, walking boots etc but cannot be used to house a car.
There is only enough space for two cars only which must be parked in front of the garage.
The area and location
Oakwood is a perfect base to stay as it is on the Cheshire/Shropshire Border and close to the Staffordshire and Welsh borders. Ightfield is a quiet village with lots of walks from the doorstep which join the Shropshire Way with community events such as the Big Breakfast morning. The Olde Jack Inn is a 20 minute walk from the bungalow down a hardstanding footpath and is dog friendly. A nature reserve with woodland walks are 10 minutes away and this is also safe and secure for dogs as it is well fenced and we also have the Chef In The Woods, who sells his home-made pies and cakes to visitors of the Reserve. The church dates back to the Doomsday Book and bell ringing practice is every wednesday night which is lovely to hear. Our nearest town is Whitchurch which has a Sainsburys and Tesco and will deliver to the bungalow. The canalside village of Audlem is the same distance away and this lovely vilage has circular canalside walks, shops and tearooms. The White Lion in Ash has a footpath leading to Brown Moss Reserve and it is also dog friendly.
We welcome upto two well behaved dogs in Oakwood (No dogs aged 15 months and under please) Please do not let your dogs go on the furniture or beds or to be left unattended as dogs can cause damage if left in a strange place. Doggy charge is £20 for the first dog and £10 for the second dog. We will supply towels and fleeces for your canine friends and doggy treats.
